Watervliet – Michael “Tex” Ryan, 64, passed away suddenly at his residence on Monday June 21, 2021 with his loving family by his side. Born in Troy, he is the son of the late John and Marion (LaBelle) Ryan.

Mike married the love of his life Lucianne “Lucy” Doyle on July 10, 1982 at St. Brigid’s Church in Port Schuyler, where they would go on to raise their two sons, John and Cody. Mike was a Heavy Equipment operator for LaFarge Cement in Ravena for more than 25 years until his retirement in 2019. He was known as “Tex” to his friends especially the one’s he competed with and against in Watervliet’s famous Thanksgiving Day Bruce’s Bowl football game. Mike was an avid Cowboys and Mets fan and a member of the United Mine Workers and The Watervliet AOH. He will be missed by many especially his three granddaughters whom he adored.

Mike is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lucy Ryan; his sons, John F. Ryan and Cody (Cara) Ryan; his granddaughters, Makenzie, Teagan and Delaney; and his sister, Cheryl Liburdi. In addition to his parents, Mike was predeceased by his brother, Gary Ryan; and sister, Bonnie Ryan Mott.

Calling hours for Mike will be held on Friday June 25th from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at The Parker Bros. Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway in Watervliet. Funeral services will be on Saturday June 26th at 9:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Albany Rural Cemetery.
