Wayne was, without a doubt, one of the sweetest, most compassionate man we have ever met. So many times, he helped us in our time of need, not only with the details of a funeral, but the heartfelt sympathy and gentle guidance he bestowed upon us. Running into him outside of his work was always fun and enlightening. Always a smile on his face, a joke at the ready, he stood out in a crowd. To Betty Jean and his beautiful children, he adored each and every one of you. He loved you with all of his heart, and fought his battle just so he could stay longer within your loving arms and hearts. Out heartfelt sympathy to all of you as you mourn his passing. He lived his life to the fullest, even during his darkest times, and it was because of the love of his family. He will always be with you. May he rest in peace.
Hugs to all of you,
Paul and Deborah Dwyer

My sympathy to Mr Simmons family. I knew Mr Simmons from visits to Lyons's Funeral home in Rensselaer, where he would welcome people at the front door, say a kind word, and assist people as needed. He was a caring and wonderful man. May he rest in eternal peace. Sincerely

I remember Wayne as a nerves of steel crane operator in Extrusion. We were removing a 19 ton steel ram from the press with his 15 ton crane. He never flinched, a perfect lift. He was a good and friendly guy. He will be missed by many.

Betty Jean and family , from the Thomas Patrizio Family . it is with deep sadness that I offer our condolences on the loss of Wayne ! Know that he is greatly admired , loved and honored by my family and will greatly be missed . Wayne gave me my Vliet nickname of Shultzie , the character from Hogan Heros . I never was one to like a nickname but he had a way that until this day I insisted he call me that . Love you my brother , Heaven gained a Angel !
