It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved DaShawn Tyheem Johnson, aged 53, from Troy, NY. DaShawn passed peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital following health complications. Born in Kingston, NY on September 20, 1972, he is remembered by his loving wife Nicole Johnson; his parents Elisha and Darlene London; and his siblings: Donna Smith-Moore, Alex (Shane) Blue, Dyrone London, Elias London, Derek London, the late Theresa Pascell, and Desiree London.

He is survived by his beloved children—Andrei, Aneiah, Destiny, Cera, Ariana, and Elijah Johnson, and his cherished stepchildren: Daniel and Jasmin Cuthrell, as well as Arianna and Olivia Aponte. His life also lives on through many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, and uncles, all of whom were part of the close-knit family he deeply valued.

DaShawn will be fondly remembered for his joyful personality, unforgettable smile that brightened every space, and sharp sense of humor. He was a steadfast friend who enjoyed music, had an eye for fashion, and delighted in making home-cooked meals for loved ones. Time spent with family and friends held great importance to him, but above all, he cherished the love he shared with his children, wife, and his treasured granddaughter, Kataleya Ortero.

A memorial service will be held at His Word Revealed Church, 205 Route 28, Kingston, NY, 12401, on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend and pay their respects during this time. The family would also wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Doctors and nursing staff of Samaritan Hospital Intensive Care Unit for the outstanding care and attention provided to DeShawn and his loved ones.
